The image shows a person seated, facing left. The individual has a full beard, mustache, short hair, and wears a decorated jacket with a high lace collar and fur-trimmed mantle. They are holding a compass against a globe, with books and objects around them. In the background, a draped map of Europe and Asia is visible, labeled with names of places.
