This painting shows a seated woman from the waist up. Her body faces us, and she looks off to the right with a neutral expression. She has light skin, brown eyes, and rosy cheeks. Her reddish-brown hair is concealed under a dark blue hat or cap, and a blue earring dangles from her ear. She wears a dark blue shawl or jacket over a light, pastel-blue dress cinched at the waist with a royal blue ribbon. Her hands are clasped in front of her waist and covered with long white gloves. The background is dark gray.
