The image shows a pastoral scene with a shepherd tending to a group of sheep assisted by a dog. Another shepherd is further along handling the herd. In the distance, there is a coastline with a structure emitting smoke and a small sailboat near the water's edge. The composition features intricate pen and ink work with detailed textures and forms. The color palette is dominated by earthy tones and dark brown ink, creating a warm visual impact. Rolling hills and a few trees are depicted with loose, expressive lines in the background.
