About this work
Auto wreck, Washington, D.C., USA, 1923. A Chevrolet 490 is shown with wheel spokes broken on the visible wheels; a group of men and youths are standing around the auto. Note the double license plates for Washington D.C. and for Maryland, predating time when a single auto license could be used across state lines in the U.S.A. In the background is the Thomas Jefferson Building, known as the Library of Congress Building at the time.
