About this work
Panoramic view of the Geghard Monastery and its surroundings, Kotayk province, Armenia. The monastery, recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Site, was founded in the 4th century by Gregory the Illuminator at the site of a sacred spring inside a cave, whereas the chapel was built in 1215.
