About this work

In spring the polar bears (Ursus maritimus) of Svalbard try to reach the northern pack ice zone in due time before the ice melts around the archipelago. Some do not, however, succeed and need to stay on the islands. Many of them suffer from malnutrition; this one is obviously still in good condition.
