About this work

Bluestriped fangblenny (Plagiotremus rhinorhynchos), Ambalihabe, Madagascar. It's found in coral reefs in the Pacific and Indian Ocean and reaches a maximal length of 12 centimetres (4.7 in). They hide in deserted worm tubes or other small holes. Bluestriped fangblenny mimic the juvenile bluestreak cleaner wrasse (Labroides dimidiatus) to enable them to loiter at cleaner stations and dupe clients waiting to be cleaned. They can also bite divers when alarmed.
