About this work

A 135 mm Japanese kiritsuke-style petty knife intended for small, precise cutting tasks such as trimming and slicing on a cutting board. It has an SLD semi-stainless steel core, a dark-finished blade, and a profile combining a relatively flat edge with a pointed tip for detail work. It is made by blacksmith Masashi Yamamoto in Sanjō, Niigata, Japan, a major center of Japanese knife production.
