About this work

An individual bald eagle at various stages of plumage between nestling and adult. Images show the same bird as a nestling, at 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years, and 5 years old. Note the lightening of the eye, the yellowing of the beak, and the whitening of the eponymous head. This individual is a permanent resident bird at the California Raptor Center named Sul Wita.
