About this work

Hindu temple dedicated to Shirgul Maharaj, a local deity considered to be an incarnation of Shiva, in Churdhar, Himachal Pradesh, India. The temple is located at an elevation of 3,455 metres (11,335 ft) above mean sea level near the Churdhar peak in the middle of the Churdhar Wildlife Sanctuary. It is constructed in the traditional Kath Kuni style of Himachali vernacular architecture, with construction material locally sourced and carried to the site using manual labour and animals.
