About this work

Neuhaus Castle, an unusual moated castle, in Adelsdorf, Bavaria, Germany; aerial view. The castle dates largely to the early seventeenth century and was built in its current form between 1612-1618 by Johann Philipp von Crailsheim; however, some parts of the castle, including the Gothic chapel, date to earlier. During the Thirty Years' War, the castle served as a prison. It remains in the property of the Crailsheim family to this day.
