About this work

"The Eye of the Sun" sculpture is a work by artist Motti Mizrachi, designed as a giant lens. Its eastern side is yellow, representing the sun, while its western side is gray, representing the moon. The 18-meter-tall sculpture stands in the center of The Eye of the Sun (Jubilee Square) on Ashdod's southernmost beach, marking the city's 50th anniversary in 2006. At night, the square is illuminated in changing colors, as well as to mark holidays and special events.
