About this work
Bürstegg ist die älteste und höchstgelegene (1.719m) Walsersiedlung in Vorarlberg. Das 1695 erbaute Kirchlein ist dem Hl. Martin geweiht. Bis zum ausgehenden 19. Jh. wurde die Siedlung ganzjährig bewohnt. Danach wurde ein Großteil der Häuser abgerissen.
