About this work

Agriculture and the communities around the Hamun wetlands rely on Helmand river, but despite massive investments in infrastructure, water is becoming scarce on both sides of the Iran-Afghanistan border. According to the The Islamic Consultative Assembly (Iranian parliament), 25-30 percent of the region's population has emigrated to the suburbs of other cities in the past two decades due to water shortages.
