This is a photograph of the Moon. The image shows the lunar surface with craters of different sizes and terrain relief. It is labeled in French as "Carte Photographique de la Lune" and credited to C. Le Morvan. Shadowing emphasizes the texture and contours of the crescent-like phase captured. There is accompanying text about the telescope and location specifics, giving it an informative and scientific character.
