# TRUMP ENDS ISRAEL AID, MIDTERMS RESHAPE CONGRESS | AMERICAN SUNRISE

President Trump announced a deal with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to end the roughly $4 billion in annual direct military aid by the close of the year, stating Israel no longer needs the funding while remaining able to purchase weapons if required. The move arrives on Election Day amid ongoing debates over U.S. foreign commitments and domestic priorities.

Voters across the country continue casting ballots in the 2026 midterms that will determine control of the House and Senate for the remainder of Trump’s term. Early returns, technical issues at some polling sites, and shifts in key races are being tracked as both parties await clearer pictures of congressional power.

Gina Loudon, David Brody, and Terrance Bates examine the aid decision alongside developing election results and what they may signal for policy direction in Washington.

What does the combination of the aid change and midterm outcomes mean for the next two years?
