A major development concerning Agniveers has drawn attention as Chief of Defence Staff General N.S. Raja Subramani is expected to address the media amid discussions surrounding the future of the Agnipath recruitment scheme. With the first batch of Agniveers approaching the completion of its four-year service period, questions have emerged over possible changes to service duration, retention policies and future career opportunities. Reports suggest that an extension of service and changes to the existing retention framework could be among the issues under consideration. However, no official confirmation of these proposed changes has been issued by the Ministry of Defence. Agniveers and defence aspirants are closely watching for further details on the government's position.
