Free with YouTube's ads, posted by PBS NewsHour.

Min Jin Lee is the best-selling author of “Free Food for Millionaires” and “Pachinko.” Her new novel, “American Hagwon,” continues her exploration of the Korean diaspora, this time examining the deep-rooted cultural pressures and aspirations surrounding education.

In this episode of Settle In, Lee speaks with Amna Nawaz about her own immigration story, what led her to leave a career in corporate law to become a novelist, her meticulous approach to research and storytelling, and why she spends nearly a decade writing each of her books.
