Ram, lovingly nicknamed "Peturam," is an overweight, kind-hearted man deeply in love with Radha, the sister of Thakur Tej Singh. When he proposes to marry her, Tej mocks him and sets an impossible challenge — to earn 1 million rupees. Determined, Ram moves to Bombay and starts driving a taxi, buys lottery tickets, and struggles in vain. But fate takes a turn when a Bollywood director spots him and casts him in a film. Ram becomes a superstar overnight, known as Ram Kumar. He returns home a millionaire, only to find Radha married and expecting a child. What will Ram do now, trapped in a life he never wanted?
