도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령이 추진하는 '워싱턴 개선문' 건설 계획이 관계 당국의 최종 승인을 받은 가운데 법원은 건설을 일단 일시로 중단시켰습니다. 미 온라인 매체 악시오스에 따르면 미국 국가수도계획위원회는 현지시간 5일 화상 청문회를 거쳐 트럼프 대통령의 개선문 건설 계획을 최종 승인했습니다. 트럼프 대통령 측은 "트럼프 대통령은 뛰어난 건설 사업가"라며 "그는 웅장한 기념물을 통해 우리가 누구인지 보여주는 것이 국가 정체성에 중요하다는 점을 이해하고 있다"고 말했는데요. 하지만 연방법원은 이 사업이 "교통을 방해하고 소음을 발생시키며 대규모 굴착 작업 등을 초래할 것"이라고 지적했습니다.
