# Ik ben enorm trots op George Maduro

Paul Comenencia (1960) is sinds 2004 gevolmachtigd minister van de Antillen, de hoogste vertegenwoordiger van de Antillen in Nederland. George Maduro is zijn verzetsheld. Maduro was ook afkomstig uit de Antillen. Hij studeert rechten in Leiden als de oorlog uitbreekt. Met volle overtuiging zet hij zich in om het land te verdedigen. Nederland capituleert. George moet zich melden bij de bezetter, maar duikt onder. Hij sluit zich aan bij het verzet en helpt gestrande Engelse piloten vluchten. George heeft zelf minder geluk en wordt opgepakt. Hij sterft in Dachau.
