# Made at the Library: The Summer of ’71: Five Months that Changed the Nation with John Jenkins

Journalist John Jenkins discusses his work, Summer of ’71: Five Months that Changed America, with Manuscript Division historian Ryan Reft and senior archives specialist Connie Cartledge. From May through September 1971, the nation endured rising inflation, witnessed widespread anti-Vietnam War protests, and heard controversial Supreme Court cases. Jenkins draws upon more than a dozen Manuscript Division collections in documenting this history and will discuss his research, what it revealed to him, and what these collections tell us about 1971.
