# Relative Strangers, Strange Relatives: Novels by Susan Choi and Katie Kitamura

Who are we to our loved ones? What can we truly know about them? In their new novels, Susan Choi and Katie Kitamura grapple with the shared and unspoken histories of families. Choi’s “Flashlight” follows the ripples of a father’s disappearance across space and time, and Kitamura’s “Audition” traces the interconnecting lives of an actress and a mysterious stranger. Moderated by Angie Kim.
