# James Bird and Jonathan Todd: Almost-True Stories

Have you been a fish out of water? Jonathan Todd has, as he tells in his graphic novel “Timid,” about a shy Black kid trying to make friends in a new school. James Bird has too, feeling adrift because he often didn’t have a home, as described in “No Place Like Home.” They share their stories told through fiction with Shanetia P. Clark at the 2024 Library of Congress National Book Festival in Washington, D.C.
