# Copyright Public Modernization Committee Meeting

The Library created the Copyright Public Modernization Committee (CPMC) in 2021 at congressional request to enhance communication and provide a public forum for the technology-related aspects of the U.S. Copyright Office's modernization initiative. The goal of the committee is to expand and enhance communication with external stakeholders on IT modernization of Copyright Office systems, and to provide a bi-annual public forum for sharing information and answering questions related to this initiative through fiscal 2024. OCIO and the Copyright Office hosted the first meeting of the CPMC in July 2021. The two-hour virtual event was jointly hosted by the Library's Office of the Chief Information Officer and the Copyright Office as an open public forum.
