# Another Man Done Gone"

The American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress challenged musical artists to interpret material from its unparalleled archive of ethnographic recordings of traditional folk music. Artists were asked to put their own spin on these archival treasures, and to perform them at a special showcase during the Folk Alliance International conference in Kansas City, Missouri in 2022. The showcase was recorded for this webcast. This video features North Carolina singer-songwriter Jess Klein performing the song "Another Man Done Gone" from two different field recordings of singer Vera Hall; the first time she was recorded by John A. Lomax and Ruby Pickens Tartt in Livingston, Alabama in 1940; later, she was recorded by Alan Lomax in New York City in 1948.
