# West Side Story: The Creation of a Classic

The Library of Congress presents the creation of the 1957 musical West Side Story, drawing on materials from the Leonard Bernstein Collection, Arthur Laurents Papers, and Oliver Smith Papers to illustrate his talk. After his presentation, we will highlight digitized West Side Story materials in the Leonard Bernstein Digital Collection (https://www.loc.gov/collections/leonard-bernstein/) and connects attendees with the research guides Leonard Bernstein: A Guide to Resources at the Library of Congress (https://guides.loc.gov/leonard-bernstein/) and Musicals of Stage and Screen: A Guide to Resources at the Library of Congress (https://guides.loc.gov/musicals).
