# Orpheus Chamber Orchestra Conversation

Anne McLean talks with Alexander Scheirle (executive director) and Stewart Rose (horn player) of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, along with composer Valerie Coleman. They discuss the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra's history and setup, particularly focusing on the experience of playing without a conductor, as well as Coleman's work "Phenomenal Women," premiered that evening in a new arrangement for chamber orchestra that was commissioned by the Dina Koston and Roger Shapiro Fund of the Library of Congress and performed in the concert.
