The American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress and the Embassy of Canada together with the provinces of Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec join in welcoming the public to Borderlines/ Borderlands: Culture and the Canada-US International Boundary, a free symposium featuring leading Canadian and US scholars, which explored the history and culture of regions, communities, and their residents along the Canada-U.S. border. Panel 1: Borderlines & Borderlands" includes Victor Konrad, Carleton University speaking on "Imagination, Identity, Affinity, and the Social Construction of Borderlands Culture," and Randy Widdis speaking on "Looking Through the Mirror: Historical Geographical Reflections On Our Common Border."
