# Space Pirate Captain Harlock (ZIV Dub)

Two dubs were made of the classic Space Pirate Captain Harlock anime. One covers episodes 1 and 9 and was likely commissioned directly from Toei as a test for the English market, as it retains the original score of the series composed by Seiji Yokoyama and the script is mostly faithful to the original intent of the Japanese dialog. The other dub was made by ZIV and covers episodes 2 and 3. This dub had a new score composed by Mark Mercury's in-house band Bullets and the script was completely rewritten to lighten the tone of the original melancholic series.
