# WRGB Commercial Breaks (October 31, 2007)

Taken in-between airings of "Kid Nation" and "Criminal Minds" off of CBS affiliate WRGB (channel 6) in Schenectady, NY, serving the Capital Region. This aired Halloween 2007 as evidenced by the Late Show promo (Dave wearing Halloween costumes). "Kid Nation" was an ill-fated CBS reality show about a group of kids setting up a society in an abandoned town, without adult supervision. The show only lasted three months and wasn't liked with critics. I honestly don't know why these guys taped this show, maybe they liked it or were waiting for Criminal Minds to air after it? Probably the second option since I have another CBS crime show recording off of WRGB in my collection. WRGB was (as I call it) in its final months of glory days at this point. The station was still using its 2004-era graphics package, but had dropped longtime voiceover Charlie Van Dyke and replaced him with a female VO. The station celebrated its 80th birthday two months later on January 13, 2008 with an HD upgrade that included botching the 2004 graphics with in-house CGI, and arguably 6 hasn't looked good on-air since then. Of course things would get worse with Sinclair buying the station and turning the newscasts into the unwatchable shlock it is now.
