# Selecting an achievement test

Dr. S. Donald Melville points out some common pitfalls in test selection. He describes a method for analyzing achievement tests, placing major emphasis on studying the content of a test to discover what kind of materials are included and to determine if the content is relevant to the teaching program Summary Outlines criteria to follow in the selection of achievement tests, such as content validity, relevance for a given course and proper balance of materials included.

Unclear is not offered.
