# MPAA 1976 Special "R" Rating Logo Banner

This was one of the rarest seldom seen theatrical big screen MPA or MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) trade association in the United States logo banner for the rating system of films in the 1970s and even 1980s. The Linux Libertine Bold typography rating system logo noticeably imposed in the MPA or MPAA banner for "R" \[RESTRICTED (No One Under 17 Admitted Without Accompanying Adult or Legal Guardian)\] is usually located on the the center right side of the white bar in the middle of the high and low blue bars with MPAA description. This one, incidentally, was used for the 1976 Academy Award Winning film "The Omen" and it's rare first run and original theatrical presentation, one of the oldest prints of the film. The typical bold "R" Rating MPAA logo was oddly enough printed in the center of the screen. This was seldom seen at the end following the credits of motion pictures, but I have seen it more with "PG" Rated films. This was ripped from one of my Magnetic Videos on VHS format, which is the only video company that released this original late '70s theater version... as the MPAA began giving the film video reprints with common Linux Libertine bold black font on the right side of the banner, respectively.
