# Implementing a Maintenance Management System

Federal Highway Administration Video VH-40A Implementing a Maintenance Management System FHWA's maintenance management system (MMS) for local agencies is presented. An effective maintenance management system is described in seven short video segments. Objectives include defining work standards and activities, developing annual work programs, organizing and allocating resources, authorizing and scheduling work, and reporting and evaluating performance. Although the video depicts pavement maintenance, its principles could apply to any maintenance management system.
