Preliminary planning and road repair are stressed, and the necessary equipment and materials are listed and discussed. The work procedure is demonstrated in detail in several steps: placing traffic control devices and flaggers, reshaping and compacting the subgrade, and placing, spreading and compacting the granular surfacing material.
