# Doraemon Traffic Safety (1981) - 16mm Restoration

We had teased this a good while back, but it's finally ready! This is a 16mm scan of a public service announcement (PSA) special based on the 1979 "Doraemon" anime called "It's Traffic Safety! Doraemon", in which Nobita and friends learn about the basics of traffic safety after an accident befalls them. This film was part of a large educational initiative across Japan in which many such safety films were produced, whether it be about traffic safety or fire safety, for a majority of anime IPs and works. This special (along with the sequel) was never seemingly released anywhere, even on VHS. As a result, this special is quite rare and we're happy to present it for the first time in HD. The film was acquired by @nappasan on Twitter, and we scanned it in 4K resolution. The colors on the print were very faded and needed heavy correction, which was done by multiple members of the FemboyFilms team. The print was also extremely dirty and scratched up, so we did our best to clean it up as much as we could, and although a good amount of issues could not be fully fixed, the result is significantly better than the raw scan, and should provide for a far better viewing experience. Both the color correction and restoration were done at 1080p. This upload is not subtitled. Enjoy!
