# 2002 VHS • Yoga for the Rest of Us 60 FPS

Yoga for the Rest of Us is a yoga instruction program produced by WGBH Boston and hosted by Peggy Cappy, designed for practitioners who are older, recovering from illness or injury, or otherwise unable to participate in a conventional yoga class. Cappy introduces the program in three twenty-minute segments intended to be practiced together or separately. The tape opens with Cappy's philosophy statement referencing her oldest student, a 96-year-old who has practiced for over a decade, and noting the program's design over 20 years of teaching experience. Part One is a seated chair warm-up covering neck stretches in three planes, full spinal flexion and extension, lateral side bends, seated twists, shoulder rolls and circles, full arm circles with wrist movements, and foot and ankle mobility. Part Two covers standing poses including Mountain Pose with detailed alignment instruction, Warrior One with chair option, balance and airplane pose, and Triangle with chair as a floor substitute. Part Three is a flowing Sun Salutation series repeated through multiple rounds with and without chair, including student testimonials interspersed throughout from practitioners ranging from age 70 to 81. The tape closes with supine knee hugs, spinal twists, and relaxation pose.
