# 1996 VHS • Visit Beautiful Arizona 60 FPS

A mid-1990s tourism promotional tape covering Phoenix, Tucson, and surrounding attractions. Phoenix is the focus of the first half, opening at Sky Harbor Airport and moving through the major resorts: the Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired Arizona Biltmore, the Phoenician on Camelback Mountain, and the Scottsdale Princess with its TPC Stadium golf course. The video covers shopping at the Borgata of Scottsdale, the Kerr Cultural Center, and the America West Arena, home to the Phoenix Suns featuring Charles Barkley and Kevin Johnson. Four-wheel-drive excursions, Saguaro Lake, the Phoenix Zoo, and hot air ballooning complete the Phoenix section. The Tucson portion covers the University of Arizona Wildcats, Kitt Peak National Observatory (founded 1958, 15 telescopes including the McMath Solar Telescope), and Tombstone, where Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday fought the Clanton gang at the O.K. Corral on October 26, 1881. The Grand Canyon via helicopter tour, the arts community of Sedona with the Tlaquepaque shopping village, Fountain Hills Balloon Day, and Camelback Mountain close out the tape.
