# 1992 VHS • Learning About Dinosaurs 60 FPS

Learning About Dinosaurs is a children's educational program presenting an illustrated overview of dinosaurs, their diversity, behavior, and extinction. The program opens with a timeline of life on Earth from the first ocean-based life 3.35 billion years ago through fish, amphibians, dinosaurs, mammals, birds, and finally humans, who have been present for only about one million years. Dinosaurs are placed from approximately 220 million years ago to their extinction 65 million years ago, with fossils found on every continent cited as evidence. Individual species covered include Brontosaurus (also called thunder lizard), a plant-eating egg-layer described as harmless; Coelophysis, a flesh-eater approximately eight feet long; Stegosaurus (plated lizard) with bony back plates and tail spikes; Anatosaurus (duck lizard) with webbed feet and hundreds of tightly packed teeth; pteranodons, noted as flying reptiles unrelated to dinosaurs; Ankylosaurus (stiffened lizard) with full body armor; Tyrannosaurus rex (king tyrant lizard), 50 feet long and 18 feet tall; and Triceratops (three-horned face), largest of the horned-face group. The extinction is attributed to climate change and vegetation shifts, with the dinosaurs unable to migrate due to tropical seas separating land masses.
