# The Secrets of Sleep

Uses animation and footage of experiments to probe the effects of sleep. Considers questions such as what happens during sleep and how much sleep the average person needs. Although we spend approximately one-third of our lives sleeping, scientists don't know what it does for us, what happens when we do it or whether we need it as much as we think we do. Among the topics are: the quality of sleep induced by pills, jet lag (considered one of the causes of airplane crashes) and the importance of dreaming and interpreting dreams. 1 reel, 52 min. : 16 mm + *Note: Transferred to DVD by the University of Washington * VHS copy was transferred from U-Matic by Ball State University
