# \[Home Movie: Casper J. Renner Collection, 1970s, Trip to Marco Island, FL and Everglades - 2nd Day Film A\]

Synopsis One of four home movies depicting a trip to Marco Island in Florida by Casper and Caroline Renner in the 1970s. It's likely that this trip to Florida was related in some way to Casper's farming equipment business, which could have led to him winning this trip. This film features Casper and Caroline on beach, looking at shells and marine life, and riding the bus through the Florida marshland to an African Safari tourist attraction. Collection Description This film (Renner_0007) is part of the Casper J. Renner Home Movies & Community History Collection . The Casper J. Renner Home Movies & Community History Collection embodies the spirit of southwestern North Dakota. As the first generation of his family born in America, Casper “Cap” Renner was fiercely proud of his German Russian heritage and was a walking encyclopedia of the history of southwestern North Dakota. Serving as mayor of Richardton, North Dakota for more than 30 years, he documented many community events and rodeos on film. The collection represents 40 years of life in southwestern North Dakota, where he was a businessman, rancher, mayor, volunteer fireman, along with his wife, Caroline, a dedicated teacher. His daughter Carol wanted to preserve this film legacy of community involvement and community history for future generations. This collection was conserved and digitally captured through the 2015 Al Larvick North Dakota Grant awarded to Carol Renner by the Al Larvick Conservation Fund in partnership…
