# EU Health and Food Safety - Audit and Non-Audit work explained

This video outlines what Audit and Non-Audit work is conducted in the area of Health and Food Safety and its impact in several areas. The European Commission and its Directorate General for Health and Food Safety is responsible for conducting audits, inspections and other related non-audit activities in EU and non-EU countries. These activities are designed to ensure that EU legislation on food and feed safety, animal health and welfare, plant health and medical devices is properly implemented and enforced. Thanks to these efforts, EU citizens can rest assured that their food is safe and that products are traded under safe conditions, all of which also helps to promote jobs, growth and investment.
