# A Present For Everyone This 5th of December

On the night of 5 December it’s Sinterklaas and every Dutch person knows what this means. This holiday has been tradition for over a hundred years. Sinterklaas comes to Holland on his boat from Spain and celebrates his birthday with all the Dutch people. To celebrate, family and friends exchange gifts after picking a name out of a hat.

Unfortunately not everyone is able to celebrate this special night with friends or family. Ingmar Larsen and Ben Langeveld decided to give this tradition a whole new meaning with Pakjesavond Is Voor Iedereen, or Present Night Is For Everyone. On this online platform people can sign in and donate €1,50. You then pick a name, buy a present and write a short poem for this person. You won’t know who this person but you will write them poem based on the info provided on their pakjesavond profile. On IntoLife we spoke to Ben about this fun way to celebrate Sinterklaas nationwide.
