# Aging, Exercise and Injury Prevention - A Molecular Physiology Approach

This talk describes the research conducted by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health in Morgantown, WV. Dr. Brent A. Baker and his team combine basic lab experiments with computer models to investigate how repeated physical “loading” (i.e. exercise or injury) affects muscles and other soft tissues, potentially modifying genes and proteins that influence the body’s function as we age. The team’s ultimate objective is to improve the overall quality of life for workers by identifying how to prevent injury related to work and chronic, age-related diseases.
