# Wijstgronden in Brabant

Wijstgronden in Brabant. Wijstgebieden komen voor in Oost- Brabant bij de Peelrandbreuk. Hier zijn de aardlagen in de ondergrond verschoven, waardoor het water niet goed kan wegstromen. Grondwater komt bij de breuk omhoog. Het bevat veel ijzer dat als bruine neerslag in de sloten te zien is. Planten kunnen zich hierin uitstekend ontwikkelen. Goed nieuws voor de natuur dus. Daarom verstrekt de provincie subsidie.
