# Clancy Juror Identifies Holdout As Black Man In His 30s

A juror in the Lindsay Clancy trial revealed new age and demographic details about the jury, including that the holdout was a Black man who she estimated to be in his 30s.

Juror Paula Devlin told @gayleking on CBS that there was only one person of color on the jury, before later revealing it was the holdout juror. King then asked: “A Black man is the holdout juror?” Devlin confirmed. "Well, I have to sit with that for just a second," King responded.

Devlin also revealed that initially 8 jurors felt Clancy should not be held criminally responsible for the deaths of her three children, with two undecided. Two originally thought Clancy was guilty. Ultimately, it was 11-1 in favor of a conviction of not guilty by reason of insanity, according to multiple jurors.

Devlin says the turning point came after jurors watched a video interview with Clancy. According to Devlin, the holdout juror said he had realized “that it wasn’t murder in the first degree,” and the other jurors “saw his doubt.”

The jury of 9 women and 3 men deliberated Clancy’s fate for nearly seven days before the judge declared a mistrial.

Clancy’s defense attorney Kevin Reddington has said he intends to push to get Clancy’s case thrown out following new revelations from jurors. A hearing is scheduled for September 29 to discuss next steps in the case.
