# Flight Dynamics Research Facility (FDRF) Ribbon Cutting Ceremony (NHQ20260731FDRFBROLL)

The Flight Dynamics Research Facility (FDRF) at NASA’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, is NASA’s newest wind tunnel and the agency’s first wind tunnel built in more than 40 years. The 25,000 square foot facility replaces two legacy wind tunnels, delivering improved performance and reduced maintenance costs while advancing NASA’s aeronautics, exploration, and science missions. On Friday, July 31, 2026, hundreds gathered in NASA Langley’s Reid Conference Center for the facility’s ribbon cutting ceremony. NASA Langley Center Director Dr. Trina Marsh Dyal was joined by NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman, senior leaders, government officials, industry partners, and Langley employees to celebrate the milestone. Following the ceremony, attendees toured the FDRF and other Langley facilities.
