# Hearing To Examine Worldwide Threats - March 25, 2025

"I think this is one more example of sloppy, careless, incompetent behavior, particularly toward classified information, that this is not a one off, or a first-time error," said Senate Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Mark Warner (D-VA) of the recently-leaked Signal group chat with senior intelligence officials and concerns over the sharing of potentially sensitive military information. The senator's comments came during his opening statement at a hearing on worldwide threats with national security officials, which included testimony from CIA Director John Ratcliffe and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who were identified as being part of the leaked chat. DNI Gabbard and Director Ratcliffe denied reports that the information shared in the group chat was classified. Other topics addressed included security challenges with Iran, the war in Ukraine, securing the electrical grid, competition with China, and the fentanyl crisis and the U.S. southern border.
