# European Migrants- Italy

Sixty-seven migrants were finally allowed to disembark an Italian coast guard ship in Sicily late Thursday evening after President Sergio Mattarella’s rare intervention in Italian politics to end a simmering dispute within the ruling coalition. Two of the migrants, believed to be of Ghanian and Sudanese nationalities were led off the ship in handcuffs and taken away by police. VOA’s Esther Githui-Ewart has the story.
