# That Hammer Guy

Networks named by its archives: Mutual. Heard 1953. 22 episodes.

"That Hammer Guy" made its radio debut in 1953, at the height of Mickey Spillane's tough, trigger-happy, skirt-chasing detective Mike Hammer's popularity. Broadcast on the Mutual Broadcasting System from January 6, 1953 until October 5, 1953, "That Hammer Guy" didn't feature any scripts by Spillane, but writer Ed Adamson did manage to capture Spillane's gritty world and colorful language. The show originally starred Larry Haines as Mike Hammer. He was later replaced by Ted de Corsia.

Nothing here is called public domain on this site's say-so. In the United States, sound recordings first fixed before 15 February 1972 have federal protection under the Music Modernization Act of 2018, for most until 2067 at the latest, so most American radio of the 1930s to the 1950s is not in the public domain there. Each set shows the licence, mark or statement its archive gives, and says whose it is.
